Incheon Airport (ICN) to Busan: best route for foreigners
Most travelers go from Incheon Airport to Seoul first, then take a high-speed train to Busan. The main decision is which Seoul station you connect through.
Quick route (most common)
ICN → Seoul (airport rail/bus) → KTX (Seoul Station) → Busan.
Two practical route patterns
Option A: Connect via Seoul Station (KTX)
Great default if you’re connecting to KTX. Many tourists find Seoul Station the simplest hub. Once you arrive at/near Seoul Station, take KTX to Busan.
Option B: Connect via Suseo (SRT)
Use this if SRT schedules work better or you want to depart from Suseo. This can make sense if you’re heading toward southeast Seoul anyway, but it’s often less “default” for first-time visitors.
If you’re still deciding between the two stations, read Seoul Station vs Suseo.
