SRT guide
How to Book SRT Tickets
This is the canonical step-by-step guide for booking SRT. The key is to confirm station names and book via the official English website (often the most reliable for non-Korean users).

- Departure says Suseo (수서) if you are taking SRT from Seoul
- Arrival station name matches your destination city
- Date/time is correct (AM/PM mistakes happen)
Before you book (station choice matters)
The #1 mistake is booking SRT and going to the wrong station. In Seoul, SRT typically uses Suseo Station, while KTX commonly uses Seoul Station.
Method 1: Official English website (recommended)
For most travelers (especially foreigners), the official English SRT booking site is the most predictable path. It’s often easiest on desktop.
- 1Open the official English booking site
Use the SRT English booking site (often more reliable on desktop than mobile web). Keep this page as your canonical “how-to” and avoid duplicating the steps elsewhere.
- 2Set departure/arrival + date/time
- Departure: usually Suseo for Seoul-side SRT
- Arrival: choose the exact city station shown in the list
- Pick a date and a time range
Station choice warningSRT in Seoul typically means Suseo Station. If you need central Seoul, compare with Seoul Station (KTX).
- 3Choose a train and seat type
You’ll typically choose a train from the schedule list, then choose seat options (Standard / First, and seat preferences if available).
If you’re still deciding whether SRT is right, read: /srt/what-is-srt.
- 4Enter passenger info + pay
Complete passenger info and proceed to payment. Some travelers report that foreign cards work better on desktop browsers than mobile web.
Disclaimer (important)Payment rules and supported cards can change. If payment fails online, your most reliable fallback is buying at a station counter with your passport and a physical card.
- 5Save your ticket (QR / reservation details)
After payment, save the ticket details (or confirmation) so you can present it at the station. Arrive early if you’re unfamiliar with Suseo Station.
KTX booking is separate. Use: /ktx/how-to-buy-tickets.
Method 2: SRT mobile app
The app can be convenient for ticket access and quick re-checking, but availability and payment behavior can vary by region/device.
- 1Install the SRT app (optional)
The official SRT app can be convenient if it’s available in your app store region. If not, use the official English website instead.
- 2Search schedule → book → pay
The flow mirrors the website: choose route/date/time → select train → enter passenger details → pay → save ticket.
Seat selection tips
- Window for view/comfort; aisle for easy exit and restroom access.
- If traveling as a group, book earlier—fewer adjacent seats remain as trains fill up.
- If you have large luggage, board early and use end-of-car storage (logic is similar to KTX).
Payment tips (foreign cards)
- Desktop browser can be more reliable than mobile web for payment.
- If a card fails, try a different card network (or a different browser).
- If online payment fails repeatedly, buy at Suseo Station counter as a fallback.
Payment acceptance for foreign cards and authentication flows can change. If you hit a wall online, do not keep retrying for hours—use the station counter fallback.
Troubleshooting (errors, sold out)
- Try earlier/later departure times.
- Try a different day.
- Consider KTX if it better matches your Seoul destination: /compare/ktx-vs-srt.
- Try desktop (if you were on mobile) and try a different browser.
- Try a different card.
- Use the station counter fallback.
