Suseo Station (수서역)

Suseo Station is the primary station for SRT (high-speed rail) in Seoul. If your ticket says SRT, you’re often going to (or from) Suseo—not Seoul Station.

What Suseo Station is (SRT hub)

Suseo Station is where many SRT high-speed trains depart and arrive in Seoul. It’s particularly convenient if your final destination is in southern or southeastern Seoul (often “Gangnam-side” travel).

Do not assume SRT = Seoul Station

Many first-time travelers book SRT and show up at Seoul Station. Always check the station name on your ticket: Suseo (수서) vs Seoul (서울).

Suseo vs Seoul Station (common confusion)

The easiest way to decide is: choose the station that minimizes your local transit time in Seoul.

  • If you need central Seoul or transfers (including some airport connections), Seoul Station is often simpler (KTX).
  • If you need Gangnam / south Seoul, Suseo can be more convenient (SRT).

How to get to Suseo Station

The most reliable way is the subway. Follow signs for “Suseo Station (수서역)” and then follow “SRT” signage once you are inside the station complex.

  • Subway: Navigate to “Suseo Station (수서역)” and follow transfer signage toward SRT.
  • Taxi: Good with luggage, but allow buffer for traffic during rush hours.
Practical tip

When you arrive via subway, your immediate goal is to find the SRT zone (not just the exit). Look for SRT signs rather than “train” generically.

Buying SRT tickets (and what to check)

If you haven’t booked already, you can buy SRT tickets via the SRT booking flow. Keep your SRT pages canonical and consistent:

Before you pay, verify these 2 fields
  • Departure station: “Suseo (수서)” vs “Seoul (서울)”
  • Arrival station: Some cities have multiple stations

Finding platforms & boarding flow

The flow is similar to KTX: main hall departure boards platform → board.

  • Check your train number and time on the boards.
  • Confirm platform number.
  • Line up near your car number for smooth boarding.

Connections: subway, taxi, transfers

Suseo is fundamentally a transfer station: arrive by subway or taxi, then go directly to the SRT concourse and platforms.

  • Subway: Primary access method and usually the most predictable.
  • Taxi: Useful with luggage; build time buffer.
  • Transfers: Use station signage; do not rely on “Seoul Station” logic.

FAQ

I’m at Seoul Station—can I take SRT from here?
Usually no. Most SRT services in Seoul use Suseo Station. Confirm your ticket station name and use /compare/seoul-station-vs-suseo.
Is SRT “better” than KTX?
Not universally. Both are high-speed. The best choice depends on station convenience, schedule, and where you need to be in Seoul. See /compare/ktx-vs-srt.
How early should I arrive?
If you’re unfamiliar with the station, arriving ~15–25 minutes early is a reasonable baseline. During peak travel times, add more buffer.
